HC Deb 14 December 1954 vol 535 c131W
132. Mr. Pargiter

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the unsatisfactory buildings of the Charing Cross Hospital and medical school, and the high capital cost of making temporary provision to meet needs; and when he will authorise the commencement of the new hospital and medical school for which the land has already been acquired and plans approved.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I am aware of the needs here, but I cannot forecast when it will be possible to fit the commencement of a new building into the capital programme, having regard to other urgent demands on the available resources.
