§ Mr. WatkinsonThe rate of unemployment for Scotland was 2.6 per cent. at the latest count on 15th November. There are no separate rates for Coatbridge or Airdrie, but the rate for North Lanarkshire as a whole was 4.8 per cent. at that date. Apart from the normal seasonal variations in particular industries, there are no indications that the general level of employment in Scotland or in North Lanarkshire will decline in the near future.
