123. Colonel Clarkeasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has yet received a report from the Forestry Commission's Pitwood Working Party; and if a copy will be laid in the Library of this House.
Mr. AmoryI understand that the Forestry Commissioners do not propose to publish the Report. Copies have been made available to all the organisations represented on the Working Party. The Working Party was unable to devise an agreed basis for fixing prices for round mining timber to substitute for present methods, but made certain recommendations, and I am asking the Commissioners to arrange for a copy of these recommendations to be placed in the Library.
