asked the Minister of Labour whether, as in previous years, he will suspend the call-up of agricultural workers during the harvest period.

Yes. After consultation with my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Minister of Agriculture, I have arranged for the call-up of agricultural workers to be suspended for a period of 14 weeks during this year's harvest time. The dates will vary according to the needs of different areas as follows:

Area and Period London and South Eastern and Southern Regions: 2nd August—6th November. Scotland and all other Regions in England: 16th August—20th November. Wales: 12th July—16th October.
