§ Sir T. DugdaleThe first objective was to reverse the declining trend in tillage crops and the rearing of calves for beef production which was facing us in 1952. This we have done. Our target is now to increase net output to 60 per cent. above pre-war by 1956. We are already at 51 per cent. above pre-war, compared with 43 per cent. in 1950–51.
