asked the Minister of Works what further action he has taken concerning the future of the Festival Gardens.

After consultation with the London County Council I have made an Order under the Festival Pleasure Gardens Act, 1952, bringing to an end the statutory period during which the Gardens may be continued by the Company.

The terms and conditions for the transfer of the site to the Council are now under discussion.
