asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement about Anglo-Spanish trade.

As the right hon. Member was informed in reply to his Question on 7th July last, the trade and financial talks which were held in London during the summer were suspended in order that both delegations might report to their Governments. The talks were later resumed in Madrid and still continue. I regret that I cannot at this stage say more than that there are indications that agreement is near.
