HC Deb 20 October 1953 vol 518 c248W
71. Mr. Bottomley

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement about the work of the Anglo-Scandinavian Economic Committee.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I have been asked to reply. The Committee today concluded a meeting at which such subjects of mutual economic interest as the Schuman Plan, the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs and current policy within the Organisation for European economic co-operation were discussed.

The next meeting will be held in six months in accordance with practice, but ad hoc meetings can be arranged if desired. Her Majesty's Government are very conscious of the value of the close association between four countries which think alike and like to work together.
