§ 103. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Education if she has considered the 80W proposal that universities should themselves make grants to students from funds provided for the University Grants Committee, particularly in view of the variation in grants to students now made by the different educational authorities.
§ Miss HorsbrughI do not think a sufficient case has been made out for such a change. So far as the rates of grant to students are concerned, I would point out that 134 out of 146 local education authorities have now adopted either wholly or substantially, the rates recommended by me.
