HC Deb 25 November 1953 vol 521 cc54-5W
Sir G. Lloyd

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General the cash turnover in the post office at 37–39, Canal Street. Renfrew, for 1933 and 1952;and what was the expenditure for wages for this post office for the same two years and the total costs of operating this post office for those two years.

Mr. Gammans

In 1952 the cash turnover was £755,000, the expenditure for salaries and wages was approximately £10,000, and other direct costs, e.g., rent, light, fuel, totalled about £1,200. It is regretted that comparable figures for the year 1933 are not available.
