HC Deb 24 November 1953 vol 521 c16W
64. Mr. Gooch

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will now allow the Walsingham Rural District Council, Norfolk, to proceed with the Great and Little Walsingham Sewerage Scheme, approved by his Department in 1950, following a local inquiry and details of tenders submitted in 1951.

Mr. Marples

Compared with many other sewerage schemes which are still having to be deferred, the Great and Little Walsingham Scheme does not seem to be of the first urgency. My right hon. Friend has however, asked the Council for further evidence in support of their request for early authorisation of the Scheme and, when he has received this, he will communicate with the hon. Member.
