HC Deb 19 November 1953 vol 520 c190W
101. Mr. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why he refuses to agree that in all cases of police-taken evidence against persons charged with capital punishment crimes, in addition to written evidence, proper verbal recorded evidence should be kept for future reference and as a means of checking the authenticity of evidence that is later disputed.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Hayes and Harlington (Mr. Skeffington) on 12th November.
