De la Bèreasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, whether, in connection with the public concern regarding the congestion and casualties on the motorways throughout the country, he will now make a statement regarding the new motorways, with special reference to the project of the Birmingham—South Wales motorway.
§ Mr. MolsonI cannot say when funds will be available to enable a start to be made with the proposed motor road system, which might cost at least £160 million including about £12 million for the particular project to which my hon. Friend refers. Preparatory planning work is proceeding.
