HC Deb 12 November 1953 vol 520 c71W
97. Mr. Reeves

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make regulations to implement the recommendations of the Cinema Consultative Committee to prohibit unaccompanied children, under five years of age, from attendance at cinemas, and unaccompanied children under 12 years of age, from attendance after 8 p.m.; and the attendance of unaccompanied children at any part of a programme which contains both A and U films.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

I am giving careful consideration to these recommendations, but it will not be possible in any event to make regulations about these matters until the Cinematograph Act, 1952, has been brought into force.
