asked the Minister of Health how many medical preparations listed in the National Formulary are dearer than the proprietary brands of the same preparations; and whether he will list them in HANSARD.

Of preparations in common use in general practice the cost to the Health Service of 18 (listed below) is greater than that of their proprietary equivalents. Ten others may, in some circumstances, be dearer according to which of the equivalent products is prescribed or the size of the pack from which it is dispensed.
