HC Deb 12 November 1953 vol 520 cc94-5W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will publish in HANSARD a table of figures showing the total numbers of houses and flats commenced and completed in each of the years from 1945–53, in Holborn and St. Pancras, giving details of the numbers built in each case by the London County Council, borough councils and private enterprise, respectively; and similar details for the Parliamentary constituency of Holborn and St. Pancras, South.

Mr. H. Macmillan

The information available is given in the published Housing Returns. I must add that the difficulty with the borough of Holborn is that the available land has now been taken up, and the council must look for dealing with the overspill population either to the new towns or to the towns which will be expanded under the Town Development Act, 1952.
