HC Deb 09 November 1953 vol 520 cc7-8W
Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Food to what extent the sales of the National subsidised white loaf have varied since the introduction of the new unsubsidised white loaf.

Major Lloyd George

As I informed the hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, Central (Dr. Stress) on 26th October, no precise information will be available until the December claims for bread subsidy come in from the bakers. It appears so far that while there are many local variations, the total transfer of demand from National to whiter bread is small.
