HC Deb 07 May 1953 vol 515 c41W
57. Mr. J. Johnson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that Warwickshire farmers are experiencing difficulty because of his financial policy; and what steps he is taking to allow them more capital.

Mr. Maudling

As my right hon. Friend has already informed the House, he has taken steps to make it clear to the banks that in applying their advances policy they should give full weight to the importance of agricultural production. I am confident that the banks are co-operating fully in carrying out the Government's policy in this respect. This applies to Warwickshire as well as to all other counties.
