§ 56. Mr. Popplewellasked the Minister of Transport how many of the 2,600 prosecutions under Section 19 of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, and the 4,530 prosecutions under Section 16 of the Road and Rail Traffic Act, 1933, during the 12 months ended 31st March, 1952, were on account of vehicles owned by the Road Haulage Executive.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydDuring the 12 months ended 30th September, 1952, of the 2,600 prosecutions under Section 19 of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, and the 4,530 prosecutions under Section 16 of the Road and Rail Traffic Act, 1933, the numbers relating to the vehicles operated by the Road Haulage Executive were 54 and 86, respectively. This represents one prosecution for every 280 Road Haulage Executive vehicles in service and one prosecution for every 135 goods vehicles in service in other hands.
