§ Mr. Linsteadasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total number of staff employed in pricing offices in Scotland on 1st January, 1952, and on 1st January, 1953; and the total number of prescriptions dispensed under the National Health Service for the year 1952 priced in those offices both in respect of Scotland and as agent for Northern Ireland.
Commander GalbraithThe staff employed was 202 at 1st January, 1952, and 218 at 1st January, 1953. Approximately 10,300,000 prescriptions, representing just over 50 per cent. of the total dispensed, were priced during 1952. No 127W prescriptions from Northern Ireland have been priced in Scotland since 1948 when the agency agreement ceased.
