HC Deb 26 March 1953 vol 513 c105W
88. Mr. Murray

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the proposed closing of the Wolsingham Employment Exchange, in the county of Durham, is causing dissatisfaction among all workers in this area; if he is also aware of the anxiety of the directors of the large steel works at Wolsingham at this suggested closing; if he will now reconsider his decision; and if he is prepared to meet a deputation from the trade unions to discuss this matter.

Sir W. Mondrton

I propose to close this branch office because of the extremely small amount of business being transacted there. As I have informed the hon. Member, reasonable alternative facilities are available. I am, however, prepared to receive a deputation.
