Mrs. Whiteasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies by what method Africans are chosen to serve on the standing advisory boards which deal with labour conditions in Nyasaland; and how far these boards have power to fix minimum or other wages.
§ Mr. LytteltonAfrican members of these boards are nominated by the Provincial Commissioners. The boards are only advisory; after considering their recommendations, the Governor-in-Council has power to fix wage rates either generally or for specified areas.
