asked the Assistant Postmaster-General how many post offices there are in Scotland; what is the average population of the community served by each office; and what are the comparable figures for the county of Fife.

There are 2,612 post offices in Scotland and the average population served by each office is 1,955. The comparable figures for the county of Fife are 146 and 2,084 respectively.
