HC Deb 12 March 1953 vol 512 cc146-7W
81. Mr. Osborne

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he is satisfied that permanent repairs to sea defences, which must replace the temporary sand-bagging, will be completed before the high tides are due next autumn.

Sir T. Dugdale

I am satisfied that the most effective measures have been, and are being, devised and that these are being executed with the utmost energy. But bad weather, particularly if it coincided with a high spring tide, might set the programme back many weeks.
