HC Deb 12 March 1953 vol 512 c147W
82. Mr. G. Roberts

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will make a statement on proposals for afforestation in the Lleyn Peninsula, Caernarvonshire.

Sir T. Dugdale

In the Lleyn Peninsula the Forestry Commission acquired 210 acres of plantable land in 1951, and about half of this will have been planted by the end of the current planting season. Negotiations are in progress for the acquisition of a further 700 acres (mostly old woodland), and it is planned to increase the annual planting programme to 100 acres from 1954.
