§ 109. Major McCallumasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether a decision has now been reached about payment of the hill sheep subsidy for the current year.
§ Mr. J. StuartYes. After full consideration of all the relevant circumstances, and consultation with the interests concerned, the Government have decided that they would not be justified in authorising payment of a subsidy in the current year. The question of the subsidy will, of course, be reconsidered next year in the light of prevailing economic circumstances of the hill sheep industry.
