HC Deb 10 March 1953 vol 512 c112W
121. Mr. Russell

asked the Minister of Materials what commodity markets which were open in pre-war years are still closed, other than those dealing in foodstuffs and the Liverpool Cotton Exchange; what are the prospects of their being reopened; and if he will give any estimate of the foreign exchange earned annually by these markets before the war.

Sir A. Salter

None, apart from copper. This is under constant review and the intention is to allow the exchange to reopen as soon as conditions permit. I am afraid it is not possible to answer the last part of the Question.
