§ 79. Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Fuel and Power why his grant to the National Coal Board under Section 11 of the Coal Mining Subsidence Act, 1950, for the period from the passage of the Act to 31st December, 1952, fell short of the statutory maximum of one-half of the additional expenditure incurred by the Board, by virtue of the Act, in that period; and if he will now consider paying to the Board the sum of the difference between £500,000 and the statutory maximum.
§ Mr. Joynson-HicksThe Board's account of the total expenditure to 31st December, 1952, has not yet been received. This is expected very shortly and the balance of grant shown to be due will then be paid.
