§ Mr. EcclesOn the 1st January, 1953, Government Departments held on requisition 79,500 square feet of accommodation in the City of London, of which 64,500 square feet was used as office accommodation for about 700 staff, and 1,253,000 square feet in the City of Westminster, of which about 800,000 square feet was used as office accommodation for 7,380 staff. The figures given for office accommodation include committee rooms, registries, libraries, welfare rooms and some canteens.
