§ 51. Mr. Chetwyndasked the Minister of Education to make a statement on her recent discussions with representatives of adult education organisations concerning the grants for 1953–1954.
§ 53. Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Education if, in the light of representations made to her by the bodies concerned, she will now reconsider her proposed 10 per cent. cut in grants to bodies in adult education.
55. Mr. Wileyasked the Minister of Education whether she has now received the further information about adult education she requested from the individually responsible bodies; and if she will now make a statement on the reduction of grants for adult education.
§ Miss HorsbrughI would refer the hon. Members to the answer I gave on 26th February to the hon. and gallant Member for Norfolk, Central (Brigadier Medlicott). Not all the bodies concerned have yet sent me the information which I requested, and I am therefore not yet in a position to make any further statement.
