HC Deb 03 March 1953 vol 512 c29W
80. Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Supply when the specification of the material for the red uniform of Guardsmen was last laid down; where it is now made; and what is the percentage of cotton contained in this material.

Mr. Low

The specification for scarlet cloth was last reviewed in 1937. The cloth is made in the West of England and contains no cotton.
