HC Deb 02 March 1953 vol 512 c7W
Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the pier in Loch Pooltiel, Isle of Skye, which is of importance for communications for the community living in Glendale, and which was damaged in the recent gale, can be considered for a special grant for reconstruction.

Mr. J. Stuart

I regret that I cannot see my way to offer a grant for the reconstruction of Pooltiel Pier pending the result of the consideration now being given to the reorganisation of the West Highland cargo services which may involve the stopping of calls at some piers.
