§ Mr. Joynson-HicksThe average pithead proceeds of all coal sold inland were 38s. 11d. per ton in 1946 and are estimated to have been 55s. per ton in 1952. Separate figures for domestic coal are not readily available. Pithead prices are now being increased by 10 per cent., or an average of 5s. 6d. per ton.
