HC Deb 25 June 1953 vol 516 c159W
58. Mr. D. J. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to receive the report of the Committee which is investigating the problem of redundancy in the tin-plate industry in West Wales.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

This Committee was appointed to advise the Government on specific measures which are necessary for the modernisation of the communications of the area and on the attraction of new industry and it will submit recommendations to the Government on the various matters with which they are concerned as they reach conclusions on them. I understand that the Committee hopes to submit recommendations covering part of the field of their inquiry during the summer.
