§ 35. Mrs. Cullenasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware of the experiment in the type of accommodation provided for mental patients at Woodilee Mental Hospital; whether he will indicate the success achieved by this experiment; and if he will place in the Library photographs and report on this 39W hospital, with a view to other regional hospital boards adopting this type of accommodation.
Commander GalbraithThe pavilions at Woodilee, completed in 1942, are on recognised modern lines providing pleasant and bright conditions for suitable patients.
The unit is already well known to those responsible for planning mental hospitals in Scotland and I do not think any useful purpose would be served by placing photographs and a report in the Library.
