HC Deb 30 July 1953 vol 518 c182W
55. Mr. Harold Davies

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the long delay in the delivery of glass to horticulturists; and whether, since the horticultural glass industry is a monopoly in the hands of a firm, the name of which has been sent to him, he will refer the matter to the Monopolies Commission.

Mr. P. Thorneycroft

My right hon. Friend the Minister of Works is not aware of any difficulty in obtaining horticultural glass at present. In choosing matters for reference to the Monopolies Commission I shall, however, bear in mind the supply of flat glass.
