asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a further statement regarding the abduction of Leading Aircraftman Rigden at Ismailia.

Rigden has not yet been returned. In the meantime, the general security position in the Canal Zone has, in General Festing's opinion, improved enough to justify a considerable relaxation of the special measures taken by him a fortnight ago.
