63. Mr. E. Johnson

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will give early approval to the decision of the Manchester City Council to install open fires in prefabricated houses.

Mr. Marples

The council have been authorised to make a start on installing open fires of a slow-burning type in some 500 of the houses.
