§ 36. Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in order to encourage pioneer industries in underdeveloped areas of the British Commonwealth by British firms, he will consider a system of tax remission for an initial period of five years.
§ Mr. MaudlingThe Royal Commission on the Taxation of Profits and Income made a recommendation on this subject in their First Report and it was fully discussed during the Committee stage of the Finance Bill. As I have explained, my right hon. Friend will consider the matter again when the Royal Commission have made their final report.
