§ Miss HorsbrughThe five major primary and secondary school projects under construction in Sunderland comprise seven schools. Of these I expect four to be completed by the beginning of the autumn term, and I understand the authority hope to have a fifth in use by then.
§ 66. Mr. F. Willeyasked the Minister of Education how many classes there are in primary schools in Sunderland consisting of 40 or more pupils per class; and what is the proportion of the total classes in primary schools in Sunderland.
§ Miss HorsbrughProvisional figures show that last January 215 out of 627, that is, just over one-third, of the primary school classes in Sunderland had more than 40 pupils on roll.
