HC Deb 15 July 1953 vol 517 cc173-4W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will call a meeting of the representatives of the National Farmers' Union, the butchers and Her Majesty's Government, to decide on a programme which will enable the British farmers to work out a long-term policy for meat production.

Sir T. Dugdale

The general objectives for future meat production have already been set out by the Government in the White Paper following the Annual Review for 1952 and confirmed in the White Paper after this year's Annual Review. I do not consider that there is any need for a meeting such as my hon. Friend suggests.
