HC Deb 14 July 1953 vol 517 cc145-6W
91. Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, how soon it is estimated that the pioneer work which culminated in the launching of the floating fish factory trawler "Fairtry," at Aberdeen, can be followed by making available to the fishing trade full-scale commercial units for freezing fish at sea, thus consummating the work of the Torry Research Station.

In my reply to the hon. Member of 30th June, I referred to trials of the freezing of fish on board trawlers at sea. Until those trials are made, the estimate for Which the hon. Member asks would be premature.
