HC Deb 26 January 1953 vol 510 c72W
58. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of National Insurance whether he is aware how much lower the accident rate is for insured women workers than for men; and whether he will either increase the benefits offered to women or reduce their contribution rate.

Mr. Turton

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes" and to the second "No." It is a fundamental principle of the Industrial Injuries Scheme that rates of contributions and of benefit should not vary with the risk.
