HC Deb 20 January 1953 vol 510 c8W
69. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Minister of Works if, in connection with the Trooping the Colour, in 1953, the opportunity will be taken of allotting a generous proportion of the seats in the stands along the route to disabled ex-Service men and schoolchildren and also to visitors from the other parts of the Commonwealth and from the United States of America.

Mr. Eccles

I hope to make available at a modest fee the seats in the Mall from which a view may be obtained of Her Majesty proceeding to and returning from the Trooping the Colour.

I am considering whether any of the stands should be reserved for particular classes of persons such as those mentioned by the hon. and gallant Member, but for the bulk of the seats first come first served is not a bad principle.
