HC Deb 24 February 1953 vol 511 c204W
70. Mr. Porter

asked the Minister of Works what is the estimated wastage on timber used for the erection of Coronation stands in both financial and utility value.

Mr. Eccles

It is estimated that upon dismantling of the Government stands, 15 per cent. of the timber used in their construction will be unfit for further use in the building industry. I understand, however, that other uses will be found for most of this timber, which represents a value of about £27,500.
