Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Labour how many disabled persons are registered in the city of Aberdeen as unemployed; how many such persons have the advantage of Remploy facilities there; and whether he is satisfied that such Remploy facilities are sufficient for the needs of the city.
§ Mr. WatkinsonAt 19th January, 1953, there were 674 unemployed registered disabled persons in Aberdeen, of whom 51 were severely disabled persons eligible for consideration for sheltered employment. Thirty-four persons are employed in the Remploy factory and this figure will be increased to the full capacity of 50 when machinery now on order is installed.
