Mr. Mulleyasked the Minister of Education how many new State supplementary awards have been made in the current academic year and in the year 1951–52: and if he will state the number of such awards for which provision was made in the estimates of her Department for the financial year 1952–53.
§ Miss Horsbrugh1,145 new State scholarships of the supplementary type were taken up in the academic year 1951–52, and 1,065 in 1952–53. It is not practicable to relate the provision made in 163W my estimates to an exact number of awards of a particular type of State scholarship to be taken up in a particular year.
