HC Deb 19 February 1953 vol 511 c169W
118. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware of the danger that will arise when the present egg marketing scheme comes to an end; and if he will now state what steps he is taking to provide for an orderly change over and to prevent an increase in the prices.

Dr. Hill

I would refer the hon. Member to the announcement made by my right hon. and gallant Friend to the House yesterday.

Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Food when he proposes to introduce an egg marketing scheme; and if he will give ample notice of this proposal, so that it can be fully discussed and reported upon by those who will be affected by it.

Major Lloyd George

The arrangements to be introduced when price control and allocation end on the 26th March next have already been announced. It is open to producers at any time to submit to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture proposals for an egg marketing scheme under the Agricultural Marketing Acts, which specifically provide for representations from all the interests concerned to be heard.
