§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeThe contingents from the Army and Royal Air Force by which the column is being manned, reported for duty on 1st January. They have made good progress with their initial training and by the beginning of May they should be ready to take part in exercises with the Civil Defence services of local authorities. An extensive tour programme, which includes most of the larger cities in England, Scotland and Wales, has been worked out for this purpose.
