asked the Minister of Labour the figures of unemployed men and women registered at the Stocktonon-Tees employment exchange at the latest convenient date, giving separate figures for those unemployed for six months and over, and for those 12 months and over; and whether he will give comparable figures for the same date in 1952 and 1951.

The numbers of unemployed persons on the registers of the Stockton and Thornaby employment exchange at 12th January, 1953, were 487 men and 511 women. Analyses according to duration of unemployment are available only in respect of March, June, September and December, and the following table gives the figures for December, 1950, 1951 and 1952.
